Thanks guys. I was hoping I was clear enough. I hope Sylvan and Tony approve of it and think I did it justice. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g92K82cRiyU Here's a new link to part 3 as I deleted the other one because it wasn't running correctly. It just got there and I gave it a view. This one seems to be OK. Sorry about that. I really was trying to make it 24. Maybe Lance could replace the bad one with this one and move it to post 1. |

Chris, I have looked around for the 1/4" rails and can't seem to find them. Any idea where to find them? Thanks, Tom |

I picked up my 1/4" steel rod from Lowes. You have to clean it up some with some sand paper grits to the level you want it. Or you could get some precission steel rod from McMaster Carr. But really not necessary for this. |

Hobby shops carry K&S brand music wire in 3' lengths and 1/4 inch is available. Fred |

Piano wire is stainless and might be a bit harder to cut and more costly then just plain steel. But then again I cut stainless althread with a hack saw all the time as I'm sure Fred has being a retired electrician. |

So everything's going to 'youtube", huh? For those of us without access to (or unable to afford) high-speed internet (read: dial-up) the YouTube tutorials are useless. So when you get all excited about posting your next video, maybe take a few moments and take a picture or two for the common folks. Just because we're not as technologically advanced as you doesn't mean we don't appreciate your ideas. Thanks... |

I have to say that DSL through Verizon cost me $2 less a month then dial up did because they provide the MSN also. I pay $20 for the DSL and MSN a month. I use to do the photo essays before I got a digital camera and a new computer. Sorry but I'm not going back as the videos relate far more info and are easier for me to make. Do you have a library near you where you can use their computers? Everthing is moving towards youtube and DVDs for learning for obvious reasons. I don't know what to say. But I don't have a cell phone, got rid of mine 2 years ago and I don't have long distance on my phone, most places have 800#s or you can email them. And I don't have cable, 57 channels and nothin on. I have Netflix though. |

I have Netflix though. The only thing could be the area in which Mike lives. Maybe it's really expensive there to get DSL or cable? There are also places that you just can't even get high speed internet. Regardless, you're right Chris, video and DVD is the way of the future. |

Mike, if you get the Firefox browser you can get any number of plugins - "Add-ons" in the "Tools" menu, which will allow you to download youtube videos to your hard drive to watch at your leisure. Try the "Easy YouTube Video Downloader." And don't feel bad about the slow internet - the US is far behind most of the developed (and much of the developing world) when it comes to internet speeds. |
